The OffGrid Signal Flare creates a barrier around your wallet or purse to ward off scanners and scammers. Keep your ID, debit and credit cards, and other delicate details safe from prying eyes without bulking up your wallet, thanks to our ultra-thin, lightweight design. I was impressed with the Soundcore App’s integration with the Flare 2, it’s a must have for any Flare 2 owner to dial in the sound profile and light patterns that you want, and to get those important firmware updates over time.Overall I am impressed with the Flare 2 and look forward to using it for many more years. With credit and data scams on the rise, it's never been more important to lock down your details. The OffGrid Signal Flare RFID/NFC blocking card protects your sensitive financial information from would-be thieves and hackers. For me the lights are not a feature I was needing in a bluetooth speaker but given this is designed for parties, out at the pool etc I could see it being a feature people would like. I wish I could have tried the feature allowing you to link up to 100 speakers as I think that could really be impressive surround sound and light show capabilities. Overall the sound quality here exceeded my expectations for the size of the Flare 2. I did notice a little delay on some youtube/netflix content but it was small.Bass does fade and get muddy at higher volumes.Doesn’t always seem to remember the last LED setting you used like Off.Great integration and customization with the Soundcore app.Impressive water resistance (IPX7) and battery life (12 hr). Great sound quality at reasonable volumes for its size. Here is a clip I took of it outside as well. That said this is a small speaker and I don’t expect subwoofer level performance. I also listened to it out on my deck and it gets plenty loud enough here but I did notice on especially bass heavy music at high volumes the bass was tuned out a bit and it made more of a splat instead of being clean. There is custom too where you can create your own. I used the voice mode a bit for some podcasts, it turns up higher frequencies and minimizes bass. I enjoyed the default setting with the Bass Up feature turned on and thought it was great. Using the soundcore app to get the right sound for you is important I feel like as well. Hopefully future firmware updates continue to improve this. I did notice a small amount of delay when watching YouTube and Netflix with this speaker on my iPad, more so then my Android phone, not a major deal but definitely something to mention. Here is a little demo I did walking around my dining room table trying to capture that there are no dead spots. So how is the sound quality of the Flare 2? First it truly is 360 degree, I used this a lot in my kitchen while listing to YouTube and Netflix while cooking and one of the things i hate about other bluetooth speakers I have is when I would move around to maybe go get something in the pantry I would miss dialog because I was off axis of the speakers. However when I was at home during quarantine and using the speaker for more volume of podcasts or watching netflix and YouTube while cooking it was a little distracting and I mostly turned them off. For a party or out by the pool I think they make a lot of sense and there are a number of options in the app to change the colors and patterns for your liking. Imagine watching your favorite sporting event on your tablet and making your teams colors come through the speaker, Or having a party where you connect multiple Flare 2 speakers together to create a light show.ĭepending on what I was using the speaker for I found the LED’s to be a little distracting and annoying. There are 5 different light modes that are all sound reactive when the speaker is playing sound, within each you can further define the colors you want to use to better suit your mood or content. I demonstrate this is the YouTube version of this review so make sure you check that out. You can also use it to adjust the volume, turn the speaker off, pair it to other Flare 2’s and even do firmware updates. The app can be used to change any of the defaults for the 5 preset equalizers, including making your own via the custom setting, turn the bass boost, on or off, as well as changing all the lights. You wouldn’t think that a bluetooth speaker needs an app, but to get the most out of the Flare 2 you really do want to download the Soundcore app, available both on iOS and Android. From empty to full the speaker took 3.5 hours to charge, and is capable of charging via USB-C to C and or with a USB-C PD charger which is great to see. It features a 5,200mAh batter inside which is good for 12 hours of playback time and in my testing I got at least this if not more.

I once had a Japanese Fender ’75 reissue Jazz Bass that I bought used. Fender bass serial numbersĮven relying on official Fender serial numbers can be tricky when trying to get an accurate build date. However, they can be really useful in helping pin down the year of an older Fender bass guitar. Pickups were only date stamped from 1964 to about 1979. One exception is that most Fender pots from 1966 to 1969 are dated to 1966. Potentiometer codes are pretty reliable for dating, usually indicating the year, and even the week it was made. Sometimes you see them and sometimes you don’t. After that, they stopped until the 1980s when they started again sporadically to this day. What does Fender date?įender used body stamp dates from the early 1950s to the mid-1960s. We need to use as many different clues as possible, yes like Fender serial numbers, to give us a clear picture of when these instruments were made. We just need to be very careful when doing this research. This isn’t to say that you should just give up and stop researching your beloved Fender Jazz bass that you’re sure is from the late 60s and is worth the price of a small car today. Even relying on Fender bass serial numbers can get dicey in those situations. It’s pretty impossible to tell with 100% accuracy what a Fender bass has gone through over that amount of time. That’s a half century ago! What do you think could have happened to that instrument over the decades? Now, think about a bass that was made in the 70s. Maybe they like the feel of a different neck, or maybe they want different electronics to work with. It’s very common for people these days to get a new bass and immediately swap something out. This may seem obvious, but remember that with older bass guitars it’s very difficult to say with absolute certainty who owned it and what they did to it. After 1981, most Fender neck dates are easy to read and understand however, I’ve still seen a few Fender basses from the 1990s with no neck stamp at all. Several Fender basses from 1969 to 1980 have neck stamp codes that are difficult to decipher and sometimes impossible to read. Some 1959 Precision Basses have no Fender neck dating stamp at all. Some years, in particular, can get really tricky. So, if you have a Fender with a neck date of 1964 and the pots are dated 1965, then you have a 1965 Fender bass guitar. Or, at least its most recently dated part. The general rule of thumb is that a bass guitar is as old as its newest part. They just grabbed whatever part or component was ready and put the instrument together to fill an order as fast as possible. So how do you properly determine the year of production for your Fender bass? The challenge with dating a Fender bassīack in the 1950s and ’60s, no one at Fender had any clue that one day these instruments would be highly sought after collector’s items or coveted vintage tone machines and that people would be highly concerned about when any particular bass was made. There are even bridge stamps and pickguard codes in some cases. There are pickup and potentiometer date codes that you can try to identify. Even using official Fender bass serial numbers isn’t as straightforward as you might think. The problem is that a neck might be made and dated and then sit in the factory for a while until finally being bolted to a body produced and dated months later. Ever since Fender started making basses in 1951, they dated certain parts and components to provide a general idea of when the instrument was produced. This is especially true with a vintage bass. Dating a Fender bass guitar to figure out when it was made is not always as easy as it sounds. “I’m fucking around with this riff, and then started playing along, and the song started forming right at that time. The only song to feature a Newsted writing credit was “Blackened.” “I wrote on bass,” he remembered in a Guitar Worldinterview. They self-produced the release (or “not very produced” it, as the credits say) and kicked it out in the summer of 1987, a few months before recording … And Justice for All with Master co-producer Rasmussen. Newkid” and chose songs that showed him off, like Diamond Head’s “Helpless,” which featured an unaccompanied bass-guitar break, and Holocaust’s “The Small Hours,” which throbs with low-end. They credited Newsted on his first recordings as “Master J. And out of that desire to play well came … And Justice for All.”īut before they hit the studio, they decided to shake the cobwebs off and record a handful of cover songs for what would become 1987’s The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited. “We grew up a lot, ’cause by the next tour, we were a little more mature,” Hammett said. They finished up their Master of Puppets tour commitments - “Jason really rose to the occasion,” guitarist Kirk Hammett remembered - and they found a sense of musical clarity on the road that they hadn’t expected. And he could not have been more of a 180 from Cliff, so it wasn’t like were getting a ‘Cliff Junior’ replacement.” “He came in and was gung-ho and ready he just had the right attitude, the chemistry and his personality and approach to his instrument were really unique. “Jason had this incredibly useful positive energy and was like a fireball,” Ulrich remembered. They were ultimately most impressed by one of Slagel’s suggestions, Newsted, who’d been playing with the Phoenix metal group Flotsam and Jetsam, a band so enamored with Metallica that they too had written a song that shared a title with one of Metallica’s, “Fade to Black.” They reached out to their friend, Metal Blade Records founder Brian Slagel, for suggestions and set up auditions the week after Burton’s funeral. “We laid Cliff to rest a week or two after the accident, and then there wasn’t five minutes after that because if we slowed down, we were afraid we were going to disappear into nothingness or go so far into the abyss that we wouldn’t be able to pull ourselves up.” “We decided that the smartest thing we could do was to keep going,” drummer Lars Ulrich has said. “I’m probably one of the only people in the world, including Jason and Toby Wright, the assistant engineer, who heard the bass tracks on … And Justice for All, and they are fucking brilliant.”Īfter their previous bassist, the iconic Cliff Burton, died in a bus accident in September 1986, Metallica pushed forward immediately. “Jason is one hell of a bass player,” Justice co-producer Flemming Rasmussen told Rolling Stonein 2016. Metallica's Lars Ulrich: What I Learned From My Band's 'Day of Service'īy all accounts, though, what he recorded for the album was brilliant – it just was not audible on the finished LP. It’s the record that broke Metallica into the mainstream, yet it has one flaw that has trailed it for the last three decades: it has practically no bass guitar. It’s ranked high on Rolling Stone’s list of the Greatest Metal Albums of All Time, and “One,” with its chest-rattling machine-gun drumming and traumatizing lyrics, has been covered by everyone from Korn to the acoustic flamenco duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. Since its release, many of the tracks have become set-list staples for the group, and it’s been certified eight-times platinum, making it the second-best selling record in the band’s catalogue. The music is especially intricate, with deftly constructed movements and difficult time signatures well outside the usual rock & roll head-bobbing beats - quite an accomplishment for a bunch of guys from California in their mid-twenties. Its songs are lengthy, nuanced statements on political devolution (the title track and “Eye of the Beholder”), the atrocities of war (the single “One”) and dealing badly with difficult family lives (“Dyers Eve,” “Harvester of Sorrow”). The album, which turns 30 this year, is one of Metallica’s greatest masterworks. I basically blocked it out, like people do with shit.” “I was so disappointed when I heard the final mix. “I was so in the dirt,” former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has said of how he felt when his first full-length with the group, … And Justice for All, came out. You need to juggle +XP gear on top of armour/resistance/damage output/health/energy. Here I collect tips from around the internet, and my own experience leveling my Harbinger to lvl 75, for about 28 days in total according to the in-game hour count, over a 4 years period on and off, spread between Immortal Throne and Anniversary Edition. Some of the time is just me messing around. If I had known the things I've known right now the time would have cut down by at least 1/4. The reward is some pretty cool gears, good for twinking. Just for reference, around level 70 my Harbinger in her best gears already has no trouble with Dactyl (Phantom Strike → Battle Standard → smash away → dead Dactyl). Toxeus the Murderer is still a handful because of the damage reflect but as long as Battle Standard is up and Ancestral Warriors running interference, she kills him under 2 seconds. The problem with DPS calculator is that it will only calculate basic attack DPS. So if you deal damage primarily via skill (which is basically EVERYONE), the calculator will not take into account of that. However you can still tell whether you are dealing MORE damage than before by looking at the in-game DPS calculator. Just looking at the in-game DPS calculator, which weapon is better, the axe or the mace? All other things are equal. Just looking at the character sheet, the DPS improvement of the axe over the mace is pretty marginal. The offensive ability bonus of each item is also more or less the same. So you may think they are pretty much the same. HOWEVER, when combining with skills, in particular Warwind, mace can't do bleeding damage, but axe can. So if I use the mace I will not be utilising my skill to the fullest extent. So the axe is actually a clear winner in terms of actual damage output. The raw DPS in the character sheet also doesn't show the real DPS of dual-wielding because you can spec dual-wield to do +50% damage with a 10% chance for every hit, with the passive skill Hew, and the DPS in character sheet does NOT show this. So my point is, in-game DPS calculator doesn't tell the whole story. They usually just present the facts and let me decide if the movie is appropriate or of interest for my family and me. At the same time, he's gotten into the volatile and potentially profitable world of tulip speculation that he hopes to use to make enough money so that he and Sophia can live happily ever after. The two women then join forces where Sophia pretends to be pregnant, with a devious plan attached to the end of that, all so that she can run off with Jan. Realizing Cornelis will fire her for being in that state, Maria blackmails Sophia with threats of revealing her affair should Cornelis learn of the pregnancy. Sophia manages to keep that secret from her husband, but not from their maid, Maria (HOLLIDAY GRAINGER), who's just learned she's pregnant by her fishmonger boyfriend, Willem Brok (JACK O'CONNELL), who's been forced into naval service, unbeknownst to Maria. (2017) (Alicia Vikander, Dean DeHaan) (R) By the time, scientists/ health professionals paid a sincere note to understand the mode of transmission of SARS-CoV-2, it already infected a large number of people in various countries, by exhibiting a high transmission rate in comparison to the earlier human CoV 6. Further investigations on the origin of infection possibly linked the SARS-CoV-2 to a seafood market in the Wuhan city, China which got spread to a large extent of human population in a short time span 5. Later on, the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was confirmed as the causative agent for the clusters of pneumonic cases by the health professionals. The outbreak of COVID-19 initially emerged at Wuhan city of Hubei Province of People Republic of China in the early December 2019 3, and the report of severe pneumonic patients with unknown etiology of symptoms was released by the Chinese Center for Disease Control on December 31st 2019 4. There were 28 players who left the club this summer through loans and contracts ending, player sales and loans out.Ĭlearly a huge change was needed to confront the Premier League, but that wasn't just a transfer window, that is a club overhaul, and essentially a completely different identity and playing staff. That is genuinely fair enough, and it is a big debate over whether Forest needed 22 new players through the door. I have some sympathy with the argument that X amount of players needed to leave for whatever reason, and that then meant there was a need for a suitable headcount to replace them. I've had less dramatic transfer windows on Football Manager with an open chequebook and fuelled by a few cans of Brewdog. The speed of Forest's huge overhaul of the squad was quite breathtaking, and it felt that somewhere along the lines somebody maybe needed to pull on the reins and ask what the end goal was. Some Reds fans may certainly have misgivings about Cooper, despite last year's heroics, but any supporter will see that this is not a situation he can be fairly blamed for. The latest emerging lines are that Cooper will 'get one more chance', and has had his contract offer shelved for now.Ĭontract issues aside, there needs to be two clear questions answered by the board before any consideration is to be given over who hands Cooper his P45, or doesn't. I am sure you enjoyed the game in the past, but did you enjoy it in its new version? Did you find it as easy as the previous version? Did you like the interface, the video, the features? In my opinion, many people did like this, and it was one of the main reasons why I purchased Football Manager 2021 as a download.Steve Cooper 's future as Nottingham Forest manager is seemingly hanging in the balance due to the club's poor league position and will to stay in the Premier League at all costs. Many people tend to think that if it's priced so high, then it must be good, and by purchasing Football Manager 2021, you will instantly be able to see whether or not this is the case. Although you will probably have to pay a little more for the game, it is nothing compared to paying for a different game that you never get to try out. This is simply not true, as there are many forums on the web that teach the basics very well, and you will never need to purchase any additional products to be able to play the game properly. The main reason why it is that people do not buy the new Football Manager 2021 is because they think that it will be too hard to learn. I know I didn't, so this article is written to show you how you can get the best use out of Football Manager 2021 on your computer. It is not because of any major flaws (there aren't any major ones, by the way), but because most people do not have good enough internet at home to be able to play the game. Football Manager 2021 has been available for a few months now, but many people have not yet purchased it. |
